Statement

Climate change is a significant problem today, but it often feels distant or hard to connect with. Traditional ways of discussing it—such as reports or documentaries—can struggle to connect with people emotionally. This project takes a unique approach by utilizing interactive art to make the climate crisis feel more personal and tangible. The artwork, titled Recomposed Seasons, combines music and visuals to illustrate the changing seasons. Inspired by Max Richter’s modern remix of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, the experience immerses viewers in a hyper-realistic environment where they experience the effects of extreme weather and seasonal shifts. A tree at the center symbolizes nature’s transformation, encouraging people to reflect on their own relationship with the environment. This immersive performance doesn’t just show problems—it aims to spark emotion and awareness in a way that facts and figures alone cannot. The artists hope their work will help audiences better understand the complexity of climate change and feel inspired to take action. This project is also a creative experiment, exploring how classical music and new technologies can come together to tell meaningful stories about our changing world.

기후 변화는 오늘날 매우 심각한 문제이지만, 많은 사람들에게는 여전히 멀게 느껴지거나 쉽게 공감되지 않는 주제입니다. 보고서나 다큐멘터리 같은 전통적인 방식은 종종 감정적인 연결을 만드는 데 한계를 보이기도 합니다. 이 프로젝트는 이런 한계를 극복하기 위해 ‘인터랙티브 아트’를 활용하는 독특한 접근을 시도합니다. ‘Recomposed Seasons’라는 제목의 이 작품은 음악과 시각적 요소를 결합해 변화하는 계절을 표현합니다. 이 경험은 막스 리히터(Max Richter)가 비발디의 ‘사계’를 현대적으로 재해석한 음악에서 영감을 받아 구성되었으며, 관객을 극사실적 환경 속으로 몰입시켜 극단적인 날씨와 계절 변화의 영향을 몸소 느끼게 합니다. 작품의 중심에는 나무 한 그루가 놓여 있어 자연의 변화를 상징하며, 관객이 자신과 환경의 관계를 되돌아보게 만듭니다. 이 몰입형 공연은 단순히 문제를 보여주는 데 그치지 않고, 수치나 정보만으로는 전할 수 없는 감정과 깨달음을 불러일으키는 것을 목표로 합니다. 예술가들은 이 작품이 관객으로 하여금 기후 변화의 복잡성을 더 잘 이해하고, 행동으로 이어지는 동기를 갖도록 영감을 주길 기대합니다. 또한 이 프로젝트는 고전 음악과 최신 기술이 결합하여 우리 시대의 변화를 의미 있게 이야기할 수 있는 가능성을 탐색하는 창의적인 실험이기도 합니다.
